Many people with SAD literally feel ‘ill from panic’ in apparently non-threatening scenarios, like ordering food in a restaurant, signing one’s name in public or creating a phone call. Even though they understand the fear is excessive and inordinate, individuals with SAD feel helpless against their worry. They’re terrified they will behave in ways that’ll be embarrassing or humiliating. The stress can interfere significantly with day-to-day routines, work-related operation or societal life. It could make it challenging to finish school, interview and get occupations and create and preserve friendships and intimate partnerships.”
